Hypospadias is a congenital condition that affects baby boys where the opening of the urethra is on the underside of the penis which causes difficulties with urination.

This condition can be treated with a surgical procedure to allow the urethra to open at the tip of the penis. For severe hypospadias, tissue grafts are often utilized to bridge the gap in the urethra. A catheter is left in the bladder for a period of time after the procedure to allow the urethra and penis to heal.
